Bob's
Ski House at Okemo Mountain, Vermont
Stay with me in 2010-11!
My name is Bob Balewicz.
I spent the better part of two years bringing this 100+ year old home
back to life. I used only 'the best' when making decisions regarding
every aspect of refitting and outfitting this home. The home was
featured in "Vermont" magazine: not for 'opulence'
but for sheer comfort & usability. If you're thinking
of a Ski, Holiday, Snowmobile, Foliage, Bike Trip
or Summer Rental in southern
Vermont, please consider my home. Want references? Just ask.

April 9, 2010 - Closing Day (via Okemo.com)
From epic powder days to scorching-hot
spring skiing, it has been one wild winter season.
All good things must come to an end, including the
2009/2010 ski and ride season at Okemo. Today at 4
p.m. the last chair will depart, marking the
final day of skiing and riding at Okemo this season.
Our Mountain Operations team has done an incredible
job, but due to the recent weather they have decided
they can no longer provide the quality skiing and
riding experience our guests deserve. But as one
door closes, another opens. The Okemo Valley
Golf Club will open with reduced-rate
greens fees for play on all 18 holes this
Saturday, April 10! So break out the clubs,
hiking boots, bathing suits and bicycles - a whole
new season of recreational activities begins
tomorrow at Okemo Mountain Resort!

4-2-10: Winners of the 'Brookdale
Guitar Show' Auction are up at the house for a wonderful few
days of skiing before Easter! Was glad to donate the house for
the auction, the proceeds went to support
Public Radio. I'll be back up
next week myself...to grab the last few days before Okemo
closes :(
-
3-27-10: Well. what can you say, unbelievable spring conditions!
Who the heck would want to leave...not I! But have
Open House back in
'Jersey. Last trip for the 'kid' but we had some nice trips up
here & finished it yesterday with the South Face (Dreamweaver)
over to Stump Jumper for a few & then...well, my Dad's fave...we
'bombed' Mountain Road all the way from the Summit to Lower
Arrow & called it 'a season' for Charles.
-
3/21/10: Wow...what great conditions! Cold enough at night to
make corduroy to start each day...it's killer! Hate to
leave....but will be back next week and the next!
-
US Boarding Open at Stratton this week!
-
3-15-10:
Man...do I hate to leave? Yikes...what beautiful spring skiing
conditions! Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me. Don't miss conditions this
week or upcoming weekend if you can...it's unbelievable. Okemo
took that dump from two weeks ago, beat it down & each day
uncovers 3" of 'corduroy', you have GOT to ski
'First Tracks' daily!
-
2/24/10:
Wow, a solid 4 foot dump! The conditions up here are perfect &
the mountain will no doubt take what Mother Nature dealt, groom
the heck out of it & preserve as much as possible!
